Where's cheaper, Japan, Korea or Philippines???

By that, i mean the cost of their standard of living... the groceries (food), fashion (clothing, shoes, accessories), vices (malls, clubs), bills (electric, water)... the likes.

I'm here in U.S. but I'm planning to stay in one of these countries for maybe half a year or longer... hopefully.

Thanks in advance for all the answers and replies.

Where's cheaper, Japan, Korea or Philippines???
Japan is nowhere cheap at all. It is a actually one of the top most expensive places to live... Korea is in the middle of Japan and Philippines... There's a lot of Koreans in the Philippines because its way cheaper. But Japan and Korea are more conservative in terms of having foreigners around than the Philippines...

Um Philippines is actually the cheapest of them all, in terms of living and etc--%26gt; from a foreigners point of view, since the convertion of money from the US to pesos is big... because if you are a local in the Philippines, and if u want to get a job to earn money there... than Philippines cause of living and etc are expensive...

Malls- Philippines has the 4 biggest mall in the world.. much more larger than the two other countries... even bigger than the American malls... and depending on what you buy, some are pretty cheap, some are expensive... but if know where to look (other places that they sell stuff) than Its pretty cheap! - which also includes food and other neccesities that you need to buy...

And as I was saying... Philippines is actually lower (money wise) than korea and Japan... so you can also expect that most of the terms of living and etc.. are cheaper

just a warning though: There is always a bad side to every country in the world... So you need to know the culture and customs beforehand (to whatever country you might end up choosing) so you wont offend anyone...

The majority of Filipino people knows english... so communication is never a problem

Have a safe trip!
Reply:Philipines
Reply:The Philippines has the lowest standard of living. Japan has the highest. You can only stay in Japan 90 days on a tourist visa. These three countries are very different from each-other, and so are their peoples. The Filipinos will probably be the most friendly though.
Reply:go to japan if you can,you will learn so many things they are amazing people.....but so expensive.
Reply:PH is clearly cheapest.
Reply:Philippines
Reply:like everyone else. philippines is the cheapest by a lot.

but japan in my opinion is a much more interesting place.
Reply:I am Canadian and wishing to retire in the Philippines.
Reply:I would think Philippines. Japan and Korea are both developed nations. My husband lived in Japan for 1 month in1998 and he said that the cost of living then was high. From his time there he says it pays well to work there. But for earning your money elsewhere and spending it there it would be very expensive. I don't know much about SK except that it is in the comprehensive list of developed nations and has a strong car and technology industry.

I had friends from Philippines and it seems to be a poor nation in about the same position as India or Thailand.
Reply:Japan is by far the most expensive. Think along the lines of living in NYC or LA.

Korea is a close second. We have thousands of Koreans living in the Philippines either to study english or retired because the cost of living here is way less than Korea.

The Philippines is the best bet as far as streatching you $'s.
Reply:japan is among the top 5 expensive countries in the world. things are more expensive than the uk and nyc. the rental of accommodation is horrandous.

korea is not too bad but becoming more expensive these days.

of course the philippines is the cheapest among all.

however, there's a price to pay for all. eventhough japan is expensive, it's very clean, systematic, convenient, hi-tech, friendly, courteous and many more. and they have many metropolitants there. its very easy to get around the whole of japan. not many people speak english but they very very helpful.

the philippines can be frustrating coz it is a 3rd world country. very cheap but more chaotic, bargaining is a way of life, unreliable public transport, very unsystematic in many ways. driving there can be suicidal. most westerners get frustrated to live in 3rd world countries until they get accustomed to it.

korea is somewhere in between, less frustrating than the philippines and less advanced than japan.

if your priority is convenience, proper system, cleanliness, modern, spend more money and japan is the place.

but if like adventures, go to the philip[pines
