8th grade formal dress & shoes??

i am having my 8th grade formal in 2 weeks, and am clueless about what dress, shoes,or accessories to get. I am 5feet, 4inches tall with shoulder-legnth med.brown hair with golden-looking highlights. I am very athletic, so i have a nice body, and have fair skin(i am white). I am flat-chested (sort-of) and was thinking about a halter or strapless dress, with high heeled flip flops, and some longer vintage-style neclaces. Can you please tell me a color you think would look good on me, what accessories to wear with it, and a type of shoe?((p.s., the dress needs to be short)). thank you!

Reply:if its just 8th grade, try a halter(especially if your a little flat). and if some people are coming in jeans, which they will at mine, dont get too dressy. dont get any shoes with cork, and 3 inches should be the limit. If your more outgoing try brighter, bolder colors and dresses, youll get more compliments. the bag should match or compliment your shoes or dress, and hair up in curls might be pretty. If you want get a glittery hairpeice or headband. If your fair go for more silver jewlry over gold. Of course glittery is good too. your shoes should compliment the dress or be in a neutral color. idk get creative too.

HAVE FUN AT YOUR FORMAL = ]
Reply:What colour are your eyes? If they are blue or green, it would look really pretty if you complimented your eyes with the colour of your dress. I'd suggest soft hues of a springlike colour- white might look too bridal, black too old, dark colours could be too wintery, and extremely bright colours would probably clash with your colouring, which seems more neutral. A light blue, sage green, pastel yellow, lavender- whatever colour you like best. If you decide to get a halter dress, I'd suggest wearing a longer necklace that will accentuate the steep neckline. For a strapless dress, a choker would compliment the lines of the dress and add a softer, feminine vibe. Since you are going to get a short dress, you could have some fun with the shoes. I'd suggest a good size heel, maybe the wedge types which are VERY in this year. If you wanted to make the outfit look more edgy, you could go with dark vintagey necklaces and black patent leather heels, which would offset the feminity of a classic dress. For a more feminine, classic look, you could try to find shoes that matched your dress (unlikely) or pick out something in a neutral that compliments your dress.

For when you are shopping: I saw some shockingly cheap dresses at Macys, and www.edressme.com has a cute selection if you wanted to get some ideas.
Reply:OOH! i love this kinda stuff, but first off, if your flat chestest, look for a dress that flatters other parts of your body like ur legs (going for a short one is a good idea) but a halter or strapless might not look too good (no offense or anything, theyr just not made to flatter your figure) if you dont have the stuff to hold it up, and the halter and strapless dresses are meant to show off ur boobs, so..

im not sure where you live and how close you are to a forever 21, but they have cheap GORGEOUS dresses for any figure

also, for a color to compliment your face, pink looks good on your complexion and reflects great with your hair, but a light blue, orange or red would also look good, in the link i gave about, i was mostly trying to show you the style, not the color, b/c with ur hair, black would deff not look good
Reply:you sound like you have EXACTLY the same figure as me! (apart from im an inch taller!)

For my xmas ball I had a red strapless dress that went slightly past my knees. It was a nice satiny material. I have brownyred hair so that suited me well, so it will probably suit you too.

Black goes with any colour hair, it's an easy colour to opt for.

I'm wearing dark green this year, but it does make me look a bit pale (I bought the dress in the sale so i thought i might as well wear that rather than buy a whole new one!)

this one is halterneck, but with these you have to think about bras.

With a strapless you just wear a padded strapless bra, but they usually show up on halternecks, so you need to buy (if u can find one) a push up plunge halterneck bra...

Go to La Senza or somewhere.. they always have bra's like these.

I hope I've been helpful.. and have a great ball! x
