Ivory dress.... ivory accessories?

Okay so I just bought my wedding dress. I chose to buy it in ivory because of my skin tone... it looks beautiful on me! But now I'm worried about the accessories for our wedding that we've already bought that are white. Our invitations, place card, guest book, ringbearer pillows, and yeah basically everything are white. The tableclothes, napkins, and plates at our reception are also going to be white. At first I thought this would be great b/c I would stand out, but now I'm worried it won't match. Also... should the men have white dress shirts under their tuxes? Should the flowergirl's dress %26amp; basket be ivory too? My veil and shoes are ivory. My wedding colors are dark and light purple.

i think that you should have your flowergirl's dress and basket in ivory to complement you! as for everything else being white, i think that is a really good idea. the white will make your gown and your wedding colors pop! so don't worry about it!

i think nothing looks classier than a man in a classic black tux with a crisp white shirt! so don't worry about that either.

btw, ignore gina, she has been giving really nasty answers to every question she has answered. she sounds like a spoiled little witch with too much time on her hands! so don't pay any attention to her sweetie.

wishing you a very happy wedding!
Reply:I was worried about this as well, and was told by one wedding coordinator that if my dress was going to be ivory everything else that would normally be white should be ivory too, Otherwise she said my dress would look "dingy". Now I don't know if I believe that to be true, but she had nothing to gain by lying to me, and she was about 60 and said she had been a wedding coordinator for 40 yrs.... I took her at her word and had everything done in ivory.

Good luck.
Reply:It's not really going to matter to everyone if your dress is ivory and everything else is white. I would suggest and ivory dress for the flowergirl as well i think it would be a nice touch.

But being the bride you are supposed to stand out. People will notice how beautiful you look in your dress not the fact that it doesnt mach the decor.
Reply:My dress was also ivory ~ so the flowergirl %26amp; guys wore ivory as well. You want the bridal party to match, so yes it is important for them to wear ivory as well.

But it is Ok for everything else to be white. In fact, our tablecloths were ivory %26amp; the chairs were white ~ but the light in the reception hall was such that you couldn't tell the difference.

Best of luck to you, and have fun planning :)
Reply:There is no need to match all of your wedding accessories to your dress. No one is going to say, "Gee, her dress is ivory, and look how her stuff doesn't match...." If ivory flatters your skin tone and makes you feel beautiful, that is all you need. No one but you will even notice some of these little details.
Reply:My dress is ivory because of skin tone, too. Some people say that you can mix and match them. Some other people have told me my dress would look "dirty" next to white. Our guys will have ivory shirts under their tuxes, and the flower girl will be in an ivory dress, too. I would go to wrapwithus.com, and get new accessories. This website has the same stuff as other sites but at way better prices.
Reply:Honestly, as far as the tablecloths, etc.. I think it will look good. I would match the groom, groomsmen %26amp; have the flowergirl match ivory or put her in a light/dark purple.

Congrats %26amp; good luck with the planning.
Reply:I honestly think it's kinda cool. You'll really stand out! I think you should definalty make everything else white and you be the only one in ivory! Go for it and I hope its all perfect for you! :)
Reply:i think as long as your shoes and veil are ivory...everything else doesn't matter. :) don't even think about it, it will be beautiful! have fun and enjoy your wedding. i hope its worry free! :)
Reply:Don't worry about it, because it's not like people are going to be holding up your invitation to your dress to see if they match...it's something only you and maybe a wedding planner would notice. If it bothers you, here's a wild idea - switch out the tablecloths to ivory and keep all the other stuff white. You'd be surprised what a nice contrast it can be, especially if it's a rich ivory. You can try out the theory at your local party store...or even a print shop that has lots of paper stocks to see if you're comfortable with that. I would recommend ivory shirts for the guys because they will be up close to you.
