Where should I shop in Manila?

I am visiting Manila in July for two days. I would like to go shopping for good quality, but low priced clothing, shoes, accessories, etc. I would like to shop for designer labels, good knock-offs and local labels, as long as the quality is high.

Because I am by myself, I would like to use my hotel's secure transportation which is mainly to the malls.

Where are the best places to go?

Where should I shop in Manila?
Since you only have 2 days, depending where you're staying, you may spend much of your valuable time in the heavy and slow moving traffic. For a mind blowing experience, I recommend going to SM-MegaMall and SM-Mall of Asia. These are two of the 10 Largest Malls in the World.

Shop-till-you-drop and not have seen the extent of either mall. Enjoy a huge selection of stores and boutiques and great selection of places to eat--from local favorites to exquisite fine-dining International-Cuisine at the Mall of Asia. Folks back home that have been to Manila or know of these malls may ask if you went to experience them and might be disappointed to hear that you didn't find the time.

If you're on a business trip then you'll likely be staying in or around Makati? If so, here is a list of very good Malls within a few mile radius ranked roughly by distance with the nearest first:

Several Makati Malls in the same general vicinity...

» Glorietta Mall / Landmark Mall - Nicer, somewhat upscale

» Goldcrest %26amp; Landmark/Parksquare- Connected to Glorietta

» SM Makati - Decent mix and Variety

» Rustans - Nice upscale shops

» Greenbelt 1-4 - Connected Upscale Specialty Malls

Malls just outside of the Makati business district...

» Power Plant Mall - Nice, Upscale

» Robinsons Place - Nicer, somewhat upscale

» Bonifacio High Street promenade - Ayala open-air Complex (not a mall)

» Market Market - Nicer, somewhat upscale - good value

» SM Mall of Asia - Recently ranked 2nd largest in the World - Very Nice-Upscale

Group of Malls around Megamall...

» SM Megamall - Huge, Wide selection

» Shangrila - Nice - Less hectic

» Star Mall - don't remember

» Podium Mall - Smaller, vague memory

» Robinsons Galleria - Nice - variety

Malls a little further in driving time but great value on local items %26amp; knockoffs...

» Tiendesitas - Local Value Oriented, outdoor mix (not a mall)

» Greenhills - Local Value Oriented, interconnected small Complexes:

· · Annapolis Carpark Arcade · Bridgeway Shops · Connecticut Carpark

· · Connecticut Lane · Greenlanes Arcade · G Strip · Lifestyle Center

· · McKinley Arcade · Officenter · Promenade · Shoppesville Arcade

· · Theater Mall · The Jewellery · The Shops · Unimart · V-Mall

Your hotel concierge can arrange for your transportation to take you where you want to go. So to save time and confusion and for peace-of-mind, I highly recommend making arragements with the driver or hotel to pick you up at a pre-arranged time and place for your ride back to your hotel. If you're at a 4/5 star hotel, consider hiring the hotel contracted reliable driver and car for the day. This will let you offload things you bought throughout the day into the car and have the driver watching your things. It's a lot more fun to be shopping without having an armful of things to lug around and watch out for.

If you're staying in the Ortigas area, then you could approximately reverse the order of the the list for distance except for Mall of Asia which will end up being on the opposite side, past Makati. Whichever combination you finally decide on, I don't think you'll be disappointed as Manila is The "Shopping Mecca" of Asia and likely the world. Enjoy your two days there.
Reply:for really cheap stuff - go to divisoria in tutuban mall and even in the side walk

you can also try greenhills.. lots of stuff there..

tiendesitas is all nice

but if you want sosyal, go to the malls in makati, glorietta, greenbelt, etc

last but not the least. .. the ever dependable SM malls. you can find it anywhere.
Reply:For a safer hotel, you need to make hotel reservation now to University of the Philippines Hotel or Balay Kalinaw. These two hotels are inside UP Campus wherein it is pollution free. And for the safest mall, you can have easy way from UPHotel to Trinoma/Landmark, the newly built mall here with lots of affordable clothings, shoes, accessories, etc.

GOD BLESS YOUR TRIP!!!!!!!
Reply:it depends on the hotel that you're going to stay. If it's in Makati, I'll recommend, glorietta--there are stores that cater to different needs and different budgets. From glorietta, there are 2 department stores adjoining glorietta,Sm and landmark which is a few minutes walk. Then, there's also greenbelt which is one of the high end stores....a few minutes walk as well.
Reply:I'd say the Ayala Center, Makati. There are quite a few malls all bunched together, ranging from the upscale (Greenbelt IV) to the pocket-friendly (SM).

You can check out this website --%26gt; http://www.ayalamalls.com.ph/content/aya... --%26gt; Glorietta %26amp; Greenbelt are right next to each other. Plus, Landmark, SM and Park Square are right next door, too. Five malls in one go. :)

But if you're looking for knockoffs, then you have to head for Greenhills. Hang on to your wallet, though, as it can get crowded on weekends, and some seedy folks do abound. Now, as much as I'd like to point you toward Tutuban, where knockoffs are at their floor prices, it wouldn't be wise, as you are alone, and again, dodgy characters abound.

Good luck. Don't get lost. And enjoy your trip. :)
Reply:2 days isn't even close to enough time to shop in Manila. But since your on a tight schedule I'll give you my fav picks to shop around. Glorietta and Greenbelt have it all basically. If you want the good knock off stuff then visit a place called Greenhills, Fake handbags and the like as far as the eye can see there.
Reply:Metro Manila is literally a shopping haven.

Malls all over the city. Not just ordinary malls, but big and mega-big malls.

Be prepared for the worst traffic you could experience in your life, though. Plenty of smokes and pollutions too, and in Christmas you may see lots of beggars.
Reply:Well, I have some malls in mind.

You can go to..

SM Megamall

SM Mall Of Asia

Greenbelt

Shangri-La Mall

Alabang Town Center - although it's a bit expensive there.

But a great place to hang out

Greenhills

Have a pleasant stay in the Philippines!
Reply:.....for designer labels, you can shop in Greenhills at Virra Mall in San Juan......they are cheaper there than the well-known malls in Manila.....
Reply:Definitely, at Mall of Asia.
