Outfit for a job interview.?

I'm seventeen, and looking for my first job. I've been told to dress as you would for an interview when turning in applications because the first impression is more important than anything else, and you may get an interview right on the spot.

I'm applying at places like fast food restaurants, sit down retaurants, hotel restaurants, grocery stores, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Starbucks, and WalMart.

I want to look professional, but not seem over dressed. I'm going to JCPenney and Macy's tomorrow to look for an outfit, but what should I look for?

I need advice on skirt/pants, shirt, shoes, accessories, nail polish, hair?

I want to look good so they'll hire me, but not like I'm trying to hard, or over dressed...

Outfit for a job interview.?
Be Conservative
Reply:Anyway, I'd say just go with something fairly conservative, and "business casual". like some pinstripe pants and like a solid color 3/4 sleeve shirt.

If you want to dress it up a bit you could get a business suit with a skirt and jacket. At 17, you're probably not in any danger of overdressing, as long as you're not uncomfortable so that you don't do a good job in your interview. I think as long as you look like you made an effort to look "cleaned up" rather than like you just came in off the street, you'll be fine.
Reply:do you still go to school?

if you do, then wear your normal day school uniform.

wear your hair in a ponytail and make sure its not in your eyes. your nails should be clean and short. Apply clear polish. Wear a straight black skirt which goes until your knees or a little lower.

and wear a white collared shirt with sleeves that go till your elbows. (tight sleeves, but not too tight)

hope i helped x
