A cute pair of earrings


Some bangles, not over the top, just to add some interest to your arm. If you don't want bracelets a big ring would look cute too.


Wear your hair down and buy a big leather bag!

Black pair of pants paired with a funky shirt, grab a headband or some bangles and you are good to go. Since the dress is more on the plain side and is strapless, a necklace that has a little length to it, with a bracelet will look gorgeous. I would go with a silver heel, or a silver beaded flip-flop (the dressy ones). Good Luck!

Although this is coming from a seventeen year old, I still think you will enjoy the clothes I pick out.





I suggest you start shopping at places like J.Crew, Gap, Banana Republic, Dockers, Ann Taylor LOFT or major department stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, or Barney's. Also try designers like Ralph Lauren who have veryclassic and chic clothing.





I would recommend starting with the basics such as jeans. Try getting high-quality denim that is nicely structured.

These bootcut jeans have a clean-cut feel to them. (Just make sure you pair them with cute flats instead of the pumps) All dark wash denim usually has a sophisticated feel to them, as opposed to light wash denim which has a casual, beachy feel to them.

This outfit features a silk taffeta skirt with a totally chic white blouse. For shoes, I would buy trendy metallic flats with cute little bows on the toe. This is more of a summer look, for when the weather is warm.

What would you say are the essentials for a teen wardrobe? I'm sick of buying clothes that only go with one thing in my entire closet!!!! I'm talking about clothes, shoes, accessories, anything!

Essentials for teen wardrobe!!! HELP!!!?
Jeans - skinny, boot cut, dark wash, etc.


Tops - tshirts, short sleeved blouses, cardigans, sweaters, a good coat for the winter.


Bottoms - jogging pants, khaki and jean shorts, maybe plaid, skirts in jean and linen


Dresses - cute summer dresses and a few that you could wear in the winter with woolen tights underneath


You'll need a suit for job interviews and such.


Lots of flip flops, sneakers, a few pairs of heels for dressy days, boots for winter, stuff like that.





Jewelwry? Pearls and diamonds. Lots of chunky colored beads. They go with anything. Wooden bracelets are good, too. I say that you get a pair of one karat diamond earrings and wear those - they go with absolutely anything. I wear mine with a track suit when I go grocery shopping.





Buy a plain black track suit from Juicy - the velour stuff is tacky. The tennis collection from ralph lauren is cute.





Get a few cute scarves. Maybe a newsboy hat.





Two or three turtlenecks would be good for those extra chilly days.

Flats: I own one in every color of the rainbow to make things easier, but if you're on a budge you should definitely get a pair of Black, White, and one bright color such as Teal or Red or Yellow





Heels: One pair is enough if you don't normally wear these. I would say either white/ neutral colored or Black to go with everything





Jeans, pants/ capris/ skirt: the most essential! Jeans are a definite must which you can pair with anything and everything.





Summer Dress / knee-length skirt: once again solid or printed that can be worn daily or dressed up for something special.





Cardigans / light jacket / light sweater: A DEFINITE MUST! These are the best to layer with or just use as a light cover-up





Necklaces / braclets are good, purses I would say stick to the basic colors if you're on a budget, if not then also get some bright colored ones.

Reply:Well, I like the dress, but not for the prom. Prom is more a formal occasion, that would be something like a sinple dance. Maybe you should wear a long flowing gown, with your hair in a loose bun with a few loose curls.

For grade 11. We might get one in grade 12 also but I'm not 100%. Am having a huge internal debate on whether to go or not. I'm new at the school so I don't know the majority of people there, but I have a few friends going. A few people I know have already opted not to attend. The tickets are $100 each, plus dress, makeup, hair, shoes, accessories, transport etc. I will have to pay for it all and I work hard for my money. Was thinking I might just go to the afterparty but the people who I've told that I don't really think I'll go seem horrified that I would even concider not attending. It will be fun I know, but I don't know if its worth all the time, money and effort. Is the experience really worth having?

How should I price my dolls for a garage sale?

I have all these small polly pocket dolls which I played with years ago, many are still in good condition. I have nearly 100 of them, and probably 500 clothing items, shoes, accessories, etc.





I have decided to sell them at a garage sale in around a month, and I would like to get a good price for them as they are special to me. This is what I was thinking of.





1 doll, 2 outfits for 50 cents.


Dolls for 50 cents, clothing 25.





I would like to get at least 20 dollars off of these. I'm not willing to sell them merely to get rid of them, as we have plenty of room for storing them. I'm only 14, so please keep it simple.

How should I price my dolls for a garage sale?
First thing, make sure the dolls are presented nicely. Don't just throw them in a bucket. Also, if you really have a LOT of them, perhaps only put out 1/2. If people see you have tons of them, they will want to pay less for more.





Secondly, make sure they are clean. Do what you can to make them look really GOOD and as close to new as possible.





Then, it is important to know that people EXPECT to haggle at garage sales. They will try to get things as cheap as possible. Set your price accordingly. If you want $1. for 2 dolls and 4 outfits, then say they cost $1.75. I would suggest packaging it like that. Make a sign that says "any 2 dolls and any 4 outfits for only $1.75!". Then when people say they will give you a dollar, tell them you will not go below $1.50. Be firm and expect the haggling.





Also, I would recommend that you keep a couple of pieces for yourself. No one ever wants to completely get rid of everything. My son recently sold all his lego the same way (fill up a small bag for $1.00) and kept a kleenex box for himself. He is 14 and it is put away in a drawer, but he has pulled it out now and again to fiddle around with it.

Reply:My experience has been that a starting price of almost anything for .50 is well too 50's....as in 1950's pricing...hahaha! Here's my humble suggestion.





I would let the customers mix and match. Individual items, priced individually, can garner more cash. Many yard sale shoppers like the thrill of the hunt and a good bargain. So give'em the opportunity to mix and match (the hunt) and then price the dolls at $1 and settle for .75 or 5 dolls for $3 (the bargain). Happy selling!
